More than thirty people (adults and preschoolers) joined NPC on March 25th for Play Day 2009 at McCoppin Square Playground. An annual event, Play Day shines a spotlight on San Francisco’s playgrounds, and highlights the importance of play in our city. It is also an opportunity to kick-start the Playground Initiative’s work, and to upgrade our city’s failing playgrounds.
This year, volunteers from Ricoh helped spruce up the playground area, painting wooden play structures and sifting through sand for litter and dangerous debris. Click here to see photos from the day!
NPC will coordinate further workdays in 2009 to help raise the grades of other failing playgrounds around San Francisco.
A special thank you to NPC Steering Committee member Art Tom for attending Play Day 2009, along with his wife Michelle and daughter Rene.
