Proposition 21 is a statewide ballot measure that would add an $18 annual vehicle license fee, which will be
dedicated specifically to state parks and wildlife conservation. In exchange for paying this fee, anyone driving a vehicle with a California state license plate will be able to enter our state parks free of charge.
Currently, our state parks are suffering due to lack of stable funding. In the past two years, several state parks have been threatened with shutting down
or have suffered service reductions due to California’s lack of funding. Proposition 21 creates a stable source of funding for our state parks and frees up approximately $130 million to prevent cuts in vital, state-funded services.
