Linda Litehiser

Linda has lived in and loved San Francisco for almost 42 years. Most of that time has been spent in community involvement of one kind or another and much of that involvement has been with our city’s parks. Starting in 1969 with Alta Plaza Park, Golden Gate Park in the 70′s, Bernal Heights in the 80′s and for the past 12 years the parks of the south eastern sections of the city-McLaren, Cayuga, Crocker Amazon Playground and Balboa Parks.

In addition to work with NPC, Linda currently serves on a number of boards: FACE (Friends and Advocates of Crocker Amazon and the Excelsior), the E xcelsior Action Group (EAG), New Mission Terrace Improvement Association and Crocker Amazon Playground Advisory Committee. Her involvement in McLaren Park helped contribute to the naming of the amphitheater in the park for Jerry Garcia, advocacy for a dedicated amphitheater “Friends” group and helping start  a park collaborative to unite the varied community advocates and user groups surrounding McLaren Park.

Linda has had had a wide variety of professions over the years from licensed SF Street Artist (craftsperson) to retail store manager, political campaign photographer, income tax professional, accounting dept. manager and insurance tax specialist with NASDAQ stock market.

She makes her home near Balboa Park with husband, Joe, who serves on the board of directors of Friends of Camp Mather, where they juggle time between work, meetings, 4 children and 13 grandchildren.
